Frequently asked
Answers before you ask
Everything clients usually want to know about working with Sterling. Still stuck? Ask our engineers →
What types of projects does Sterling take on?
Turnkey industrial automation: HT/LT panels, SCADA & PLC/RTU systems, AMR/MDAS metering, dam & water automation, pumping stations, turbovisory instrumentation, AI monitoring and custom software. Typical order sizes range from a single MCC panel to multi-crore utility projects.
How quickly can you quote a panel or instrument enquiry?
Standard panel enquiries (PCC/MCC/VFD) are quoted within 3–5 working days once we have the SLD or BOQ. Instrument selections with datasheets typically take 2–3 days. Tender bids follow the NIT deadline, of course.
Do you work with private companies or only government utilities?
Both. Roughly 70% of our work is state GENCOs/TRANSCOs and government departments; the rest is private industry — cement, steel, chemicals, water treatment and manufacturing.
What is the typical lead time for HT/LT panels?
6–10 weeks from approved drawings for standard configurations, depending on component availability (breakers, drives). Urgent requirements can be expedited — tell us your date and we'll be honest about feasibility.
Can you modernise an old SCADA or turbovisory system?
Yes — legacy modernisation is a specialty. We assess the existing hardware, retain working field instruments where safe, and upgrade servers, HMIs, communication and software. Compatibility reviews come first, in writing.
How is the AI software deployed — cloud subscription?
No forced subscriptions. Our software deploys on your own servers or hardware, works offline-first, and your data stays inside your organisation. Annual support contracts are optional.
What does an AMC include?
Periodic preventive visits, remote diagnostics, priority breakdown response, spares at preferential rates and annual health reports. Two levels: comprehensive (labour + spares) and non-comprehensive (labour only).
How do we book an underwater ROV inspection?
Share the structure details (dam/bridge, dimensions, reservoir condition) and preferred window. With Planys Technologies we plan the deployment, dive plan and deliverable format — video, photography, defect map and condition report.
Do you provide training for plant operators?
Yes — operator and maintainer training is part of every commissioning handover, with documentation. Refresher and upgrade training can be booked separately.
Which cities do you serve from?
Head office in Nagpur (geographic centre of India) with a branch in Bhopal. Site teams travel pan-India — we have live projects across 13+ states.
